A new summer incubator programme for innovators and entrepreneurs has been announced by the King’s Entrepreneurship Lab (King’s E-Lab) and Founders at the University of Cambridge, with a key role played by Kamiar Mohaddes, Associate Professor in Economics and Policy at Cambridge Judge Business School.

King’s E-Lab was co-founded in 2021 by Kamiar and Thomas Roulet, Professor of Organisational Sociology and Leadership at Cambridge Judge. Kamiar is the Director of King’s E-Lab, which has a popular Speaker Series (some events have been held at Cambridge Judge) and has developed several programmes for young innovators. Founders is an initiative of Cambridge Enterprise, the University’s innovation arm.

A 4-week training programme taking place in summer 2025

The summer incubator programme called SPARK is designed to help University of Cambridge alumni, researchers and students turn innovative ideas into action. The 4-week training programme, which launches on 26 August 2025, will support up to 40 individuals or 20 co-founding teams. The incubator is funded by a generous donation from a King’s College entrepreneur and funding by the University of Cambridge.

“To ignite economic growth, we need to ‘grow up’ our University talent and the next generation of entrepreneurs,” says Kamiar, who is Deputy Director of the Executive MBA programme at Cambridge Judge and a Fellow at King’s. “We are thrilled to have King’s E-Lab joining forces with Founders at the University of Cambridge to provide this new platform where both students and alumni can dare to dream big.”
