The new Global Executive MBA (Global EMBA) programme at Cambridge Judge Business School launched during the week of 8 January with a cohort of 46 students at a residential week in Cambridge.
The new programme complements the long-running Executive MBA programme at Cambridge Judge, offering a different flexibility that may suit the needs of some students.
The Global EMBA features week-long blocks of face-to-face teaching in Cambridge and outside the UK, along with online learning and guest speakers, while the EMBA programme is largely based around residential weekends in Cambridge.
International cohort gains invaluable leadership insights during first residential week
The opening residential week included leadership insights by prominent speakers at dinners held at 2 Cambridge colleges. Dr Namukale Chintu (Cambridge PhD 2009), Founder of Frontier Market Consultants and Non-Executive Director on the Boards of Invesco UK and Invesco Asset Management, spoke at a dinner at Sidney Sussex College; Jacqueline Sutton MBE, former Chief Customer Officer at Rolls-Royce Civil Aerospace, spoke at a dinner at Gonville and Caius College.
The first cohort of the Global EMBA programme includes students of 22 primary nationalities with average work experience of 14 years and an average age of 38, with women comprising 39% of the class.
Sectors represented include consulting, the public sector, finance and non-governmental organisations, and the top sub-sectors are manufacturing, technology, the public sector, healthcare/pharmaceuticals/biotech, and energy/utilities.
We are delighted to kick off the new Global EMBA programme with such a diverse cohort from around the world. We are confident that the Global EMBA programme, like its EMBA counterpart, will go from strength to strength in the years ahead.
