Study by Sucheta Nadkarni shortlisted for Investment Marketing and Innovation Awards.
A study on the placement and retention of women on corporate boards conducted by Sucheta Nadkarni, Sinyi Professor of Chinese Management at Cambridge Judge, has been named a finalist in the Investment Marketing and Innovation Awards 2015 sponsored by the publication Investment Week.
The study “The Rise of Women in Society” is shortlisted in the Thought Leadership Work category of the awards, and will compete against six other finalists. The awards will be announced at a ceremony in London on 3 July.
Sucheta’s study found that increasing the economic power of women throughout society is a key factor in women reaching and staying on corporate boards, and that years of education and participation in the labour force have the greatest impact on getting women into the boardroom. The global study was commissioned by BNY Mellon and Newton Investment Management.
