Special conference on national governance bundles to take place at Cambridge Judge Business School on 28 and 29 September
To commemorate the 20th anniversary of the journal, Corporate Governance: An International Review (CGIR), Cambridge Judge Business School will be hosting a special conference on national governance bundles on Friday 28 and Saturday 29 September 2012, in partnership with the recently launched Cambridge Corporate Governance Network (CCGN).
National governance bundles are configurations of corporate governance mechanisms that simultaneously operate to govern firms – on both firm and national levels – within an overall economy or collections of economies.
Keynote speakers include:
- Randall Morck, Jarislowsky Distinguished Professor, University of Alberta,
- Carla Millar, Professor of International Marketing and Management, University of Twente,
- Ruth V. Aguilera, Associate Professor, University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign.
This conference is one of the first major events to be held after the Cambridge Corporate Governance Network (CCGN) was created. CCGN is a confederation of University of Cambridge faculties, research centres and academics interested in corporate governance. The network spans the Faculties of Law and Economics, and Cambridge Judge Business School.
Professor Gishan Dissanaike, Adam Smith Professor of Corporate Governance, commented:
Cambridge has been at the forefront of ‘Corporate Governance’ research for decades – in fact, long before the phrase was even invented. The new Cambridge Corporate Governance Network showcases the wide range of corporate governance research that is being carried out across the University, in areas as diverse as accounting, economics, finance, international business, law, marketing, strategy, operations and organisational behaviour.”
Professor Brian C. Cheffins, SJ Berwin Professor of Corporate Law, University of Cambridge Faculty of Law and Director of 3CL, commented:
Corporate governance is a topic of great importance to academic and practising lawyers and the Law Faculty’s Centre for Corporate and Commercial Law is delighted to be a partner in the Cambridge Corporate Governance Network (CCGN), the launch of which will invigorate the study of corporate governance at the University of Cambridge.”
Registration for the conference has now closed.
