Cambridge Judge Business School, Ignitho Technologies and The Nordic Frugal Innovation Society partnered to co-host the inaugural 2018 edition of InnoFrugal UK, the UK’s first conference dedicated to the subject of frugal innovation. Taking place at Cambridge Judge Business School on 27 March 2018, the conference built on earlier editions of the highly successful conference held yearly in the Nordics. InnoFrugal UK brings together professionals and academics from across different sectors to discuss topics such as frugal innovation for enterprises, how the circular economy and frugal innovation can complement and enable one another, and what the Nordic countries have achieved in these areas.
Circular defence research project
In 2017 CEC undertook the seminal project on circularity in Defence in collaboration with the European Defence Agency. The project was completed in November 2017 identifying a number of areas that are potential opportunities for applications of circular economy in defence in the near future.

A shoe repair shop on a Dutch military base is a good example of the circular economy and frugal innovation, which will be explored at the InnoFrugal UK conference at Cambridge Judge on 27 March 2018.
