This conference was the best that I have ever attended in over 35 years. By operating under Chatham House rules, the candour and insight was truly enlightening.

The 2019 conference built upon a long standing series of conferences hosted by the University of Cambridge’s Centre for Endowment Asset Management.
The conference series brings leading academics in the field of investment management together with investment practitioners and key investment themes are explored through the latest academic research available in this field.
Historically, conference participants have come from 8 of the 10 largest sovereign funds, some of the top educational endowments globally, as well as central banks and family foundations. Many of the academic contributors have previously had careers in the asset management industry or engage regularly with investors through policy forums and investment committees. All participants at the conference were encouraged to draw upon their own investment experiences and to raise issues and questions that emerge through each of the sessions.
The 2019 programme focused on the investment approach adopted by long-horizon investors such as sovereign funds, endowments, charitable foundations and family offices managing assets of £0.1bn-£900bn and provided an opportunity to new and returning delegates to further develop their understanding of how to manage funds over the very long term.
