The El-Erian Institute invites you to a Fireside Chat between Nobel Laureate Michael Spence and Mohamed El-Erian to mark the publication of their new book ‘Permacrisis – A Plan to Fix a Fractured World‘, which they co-authored with former Prime Minister Gordon Brown, and Reid Lidow.
The fireside chat will be moderated by Professor Diane Coyle, Bennett Professor of Public Policy, and introduced by Professor Gishan Dissanaike, the Adam Smith Professorial Chair in Corporate Governance and Interim Dean of Cambridge Judge Business School.
The book will be released on 28 September by Simon & Schuster.
At the heart of today’s permacrisis are broken approaches to growth, economic management, and governance. While these approaches are broken, they are not beyond repair. The authors propose an explanation of what went wrong, and provides a provocative, inspiring plan to do nothing less than change the world – mapping ways to prevent crises and better manage the future for the benefit of the many and not the few.
