Join our lecture for early-career researchers

Murillo Campello.

This lecture will be delivered by Professor Murillo Campello and is designed to guide early-career researchers navigating the process of publishing papers in top academic outlets.

Much has changed over the last few years when it comes to publishing well and getting your research exposed to large audiences – key to receiving a high number of citations. This lecture will guide you in addressing issues such as where to publish, what to publish and when to publish your academic article. In the process, we will get insight into the many competing forces behind the journal editorial decision – for example, how editors choose referees, how editors decide on which papers to accept, and how authors should react to an editorial decision letter (containing either good or bad news). We will also discuss trends in emerging research topics, data gathering and processing in the face AI and Big Data, as well as dynamics involved in setting up teams of coauthors.

This lecture is most relevant for those at the University of Cambridge who are in the early stages of an academic career (pre-Associate Professor level) in the fields of finance, accounting and business economics.
