The conference offers an exciting day comprising a keynote speaker, panel discussions, networking and a masterclass led by outstanding leaders and renowned Cambridge Judge academics.
Join us, this Autumn, for our ninth annual conference, Gender Equity: Creating the Future of Work, on Saturday 9 November 2024.
This year, we were delighted to welcome as our keynote:
At this year’s conference we are delighted to welcome back Barbara Dryhurst, Associate coach, AGL Communications, to deliver an interactive masterclass on having difficult conversations. Using relevant theories, including Kübler Ross Change Curve, Barbara will explore how listening, compassionate enquiry and assertion can make difficult conversations less daunting and through interactive exercises you will be able to see this for yourself.
For the last 15 years AGL have helped leaders at all levels become better communicators, which, in turn, helps makes them better leaders. They work with executives, managers, future leaders, policymakers, entrepreneurs, celebrities and individuals. AGL believes effective communication makes the difference between a competent leader and a great leader.
The 2024 conference included 3 panel discussions:

Khayala Eylazova (EMBA 2014) has made a career transition from technology to professional services by joining PwC after nine years at Microsoft.
“I was appointed as a Senior Manager within PwC’s financial services department. Working closely with the industry leadership team and senior clients, I am responsible for developing consulting, insurance and investment management propositions across all service areas. I am also leading the firm’s ‘Women in Insurance Tech’ initiative, which aims to empower the next generation of female leadership by providing mentorship, coaching and support.”
Originally from Baku, Azerbaijan, Khayala had previously worked for Microsoft since 2008, developing her career across a variety of global roles involving business development, consulting and sales. Despite her successes, Khayala had wanted to take her career in a different direction by the time she joined the Cambridge Executive MBA programme.
“I wanted to make changes, intellectually challenge myself and get out my comfort zone. I had two aims going into the programme: first, establish my own start-up; second, join one the most prestigious consulting and professional services firms, PwC. I’m delighted that Cambridge’s EMBA programme enabled me to achieve both.”
Khayala’s experience on the EMBA allowed her to manage an industry sector change after graduating, as well as explore her entrepreneurial ambitions. “I loved that the EMBA is designed for executives with different backgrounds and experiences. It helped me enhance my leadership abilities, acquire new skills and motivate me in moving to the next level in my career.” Khayala joined forces with fellow EMBA alumna Angela Single (EMBA 2013) in proposing a bracelet for epileptic suffers, which was awarded “Best Start-Up” at a Venture Creation Weekend at Cambridge Judge Business School in 2016.
