The Director and two Fellows of the Circular Economy Centre at Cambridge Judge Business School are the guest editors of a new special issue of the California Management Review focusing on the circular economy.
The special 180-page issue of the publication includes eight articles on such topics as 3D printing and the circular economy, transforming Chinese industrial parks into eco-industrial parks, and shareholder views on the circular economy.
The guest editors of the special edition are Dr Khaled Soufani, Director of the Circular Economy Centre and of the Executive MBA programme at Cambridge Judge; Professor Mark Esposito, a Fellow at the Circular Economy Centre, and Dr Terence Tse, a Fellow at the Circular Economy Centre.
The California Management Review is published by the Haas School of Business at the University of California Berkeley, in partnership with SAGE Journals.
“Since the industrial revolution, we have been living in a linear economy” based on single use and a “take, make, dispose” approach, the guest editors say in the special issue’s first article, entitled “Introducing a circular economy: new thinking with new managerial and policy implications”.
“This linear economy model of mass production and mass consumption is testing the physical limits of the globe. It is, therefore, unsustainable and a shift toward a circular economy is becoming inevitable.”
