I research how real options shape real and financial corporate policies and expected stock returns. Real options capture the flexibility and choices available to firm managers when making corporate decisions under uncertainty. The optimal exercise strategies of the real options reveal value-maximising firm policies, while the value and riskiness of the real options capture firms’ expected stock return and cost of capital. In my work, I thus draw from both corporate finance and asset pricing.
