Students carry out a 4-week project in Easter Term. This is essentially an external consultancy project to which you are required to apply knowledge and skills acquired on the Management Studies Tripos. It is designed to give you the opportunity to gain practical experience of a management problem, and to develop skills of communication and cooperation that will benefit you in your future career.
You are expected to develop and agree the terms of reference for the project, deliver a presentation and produce an academic report drawing on and demonstrating knowledge, techniques and skills acquired in the course of taking the Tripos.
The project is carried out in an external organisation. Placements are arranged by Cambridge Judge Business School, but it’s also possible for you to propose your own project with a particular organisation if you’d like to explore a specific topic, or because you are familiar with the organisation.
The professionalism the students showed from the first meeting and all the way through the project was fantastic and far beyond their years and experience. The speed at which they were able to grasp the complexity of the problem and fully comprehend the wider industry was very impressive and it ensured they were asking the right questions at the right time. The output, as a result, was brilliant and has already been considered by wider stakeholders throughout the business. We are excited to work with the students again in the future.
All prospective students are required to sign a copy of our standard Cambridge Judge Business School General Confidentiality and Non-Disclosure Agreement and agree to our MST Consulting Project Terms.
