At Omnisent, we specialise in cloud-based ML/AI and low-cost IoT sensors designed to cut energy costs and carbon emissions, and, hence increase profitability in the manufacturing industry. With Omnisent Air, our initial focus is on compressed air, one of the most energy-intensive resources. It accounts for around 10% of total energy consumption across industries, with up to 40% of that energy being wasted due to leaks. Our AI-based solution detects these leaks and notifies utility teams in real time, eliminating the need for traditional labor-intensive audits. This cuts costs, reduces emissions, and ultimately increases profitability. But this is just the beginning. The future lies in controlling the unseen, including Omnisent Hydrogen and Omnisent Carbon. 

Founding team

Ann-Kristin Balve

Ann-Kristin holds a Master’s in Machine Learning from the University of Cambridge and a Bachelor’s degree in Artificial Intelligence from Tilburg University.

She has worked on diverse AI projects, including the development of an interactive tutorial on Gaussian Processes and sentiment analysis on medical drug reviews. She also modelled the effects of Covid-19 vaccines and boosters and prototyped an Arduino-based memory game to improve working memory.

Her achievements include winning the Social Entrepreneur Prize from Business@School, receiving the Google DeepMind and Cusanuswerk scholarships, and published her work on breast cancer classification in the Proceedings of Machine Learning Research (PMLR).

Robin Daiber

Robin holds a Master’s in Engineering and Management from the University of Cambridge and Bachelor’s degree in Physics from the University of Konstanz.

He has gained experience through internships ranging from battery cell technology at BMW Group to operations and strategy consulting at the Institute for Manufacturing. He has worked on diverse projects, including the development of an AI tool for customer acquisition in mid-sized industrial companies.

His achievements include co-founding the Cambridge Global Innovation Hub, which fosters innovation at the University of Cambridge and beyond. For his Master’s studies at Cambridge, he has been awarded the DAAD scholarship.

Adrien Jathe

Adrien holds a Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from ETH Zurich and a Bachelor’s from Imperial College London.

He has extensive experience in product development, including his patented technology for smart sunglasses that automatically adjust tint in respective areas, where he was the CEO of his own company at the time and lead the development efforts between 5 industry partners. This innovation attracted interest from major industry partners like UVEX, Rodenstock, and Vuzix and has been featured in numerous media outlets.

Adrien’s achievements include winning the Grand Award at the International Science and Engineering Fair (ISEF) in Phoenix, USA, as well as multiple awards in competitions such as Entrepreneurs of Tomorrow, CASTIC, and Jugend forscht. He also earned the Engineering Excellence Award and was recognized as the top student in his cohort at Imperial College London.
