Idea
The Africa Technology Business Network (ATBN) is a social enterprise and global network focused on accelerating technology growth and impact in Africa.
We work to drive investment into the African technology sector by increasing investor interest and understanding of the market. We connect a global network of Africa-focused innovators and investors to collaborate and exchange knowledge through platforms such as our annual Africa Technology Business Forum.
The network also supports startups, entrepreneurs and organisations creating innovative solutions to address challenges in Africa to increase their success and impact. We provide skills development programmes as well as access to a global network of investors and mentors. Our work includes #HerFutureAfrica, a programme equipping the next generation of African women innovators.
People
ATBN was founded by Eunice Baguma Ball, a Ugandan social entrepreneur with a passion for technology for development and over 10 years’ experience working in the African tech space. Collectively, the ATBN team has over 35 years’ experience in technology, social innovation, entrepreneur support and development across the UK, Kenya, Uganda, Cameroon, Tanzania and Israel.
Impact
The ATBN’s social mission is to promote technology and entrepreneurship as tools for driving socio-economic development in Africa.
We work to increase the capacity of the individuals, businesses and organisations to create a positive impact in Africa through technology and innovation.
