Arjun Vijeta is a scientist, mentor, and innovator driven by an unwavering ambition to create meaningful societal impact. Growing up in a small town in India with limited access to educational resources, he overcame significant challenges to pursue higher education. With full scholarships throughout his academic journey, Arjun earned his undergraduate and master’s degrees from IISER Pune, one of India’s premier science institutions, and went on to complete a PhD at the University of Cambridge. During his PhD, Arjun pioneered a new research area—heterogeneous photocatalysis in organic synthesis—which gained global recognition and became a hot topic in green chemistry. He has published over 10 papers in leading chemistry journals and established multiple research collaborations. Beyond his research, Arjun has supervised over 100 undergraduate students and personally mentored 25+ students aspiring to study abroad since his early PhD time. Following his postdoctoral research at Cambridge and a successful stint as a sustainability scientist, Arjun left his job to pursue his passion for societal impact. Teaching himself software development, he co-founded Unibridge to provide authentic and personalized mentorship for students worldwide, combining his diverse expertise in science, mentorship, and technology to create lasting change.
